Karma Debts vs Will Power 业力与愿力

This is a good realization and lesson I learnt from my Dharma Teacher.

We know this well.  The resultant of our past lifes karma is happening right now in this current life.  They have and will take place, you reap what you sow.

How do we reduce and negate Karmic Debts? How do we repend and seek forgiveness for events that happened in the past?  Do you know what you did?  No! What can you do?

The actions of rependence with daily realization n practices of rependence for forgiveness may or will eventually be forgiven with ones own efforts.   This is to say, if we relentlessly perform and do our part, cultivate with chanting dedicating merits, do 大礼拜 and repend our actions we may indeed lessen our debts.  The will power drive as enacted with constant mindfulness and the determination will not negates one’s efforts.

Take heart and putting daily practice with will power, making Routine of daily awareness/mindfulness/practice for forgiveness will Aid/Assist/Empower us in our seek to be forgiven.

Thankyou Teacher Leroy For this Enlightenment.

Mother Gaia – Mother Earth Day

17 November 2016! This day marks an anniversary since I last participated in the Flower of Life event conducted by Teacher Dom.

Appreciating the nature, their surroundings, the plants we ate and the energies that we had been receiving and adsorbing..giving my thanks to Mother Gaia!

What do I learn and take away from this event?

1. Giving thanks and gratitude

2. Return and reenergize Mother Gaia

3. Dont take Nature for granted, give love.

4. Flower of Life : its meaning, the connection and the energies that each and every connection is interdependent on for its life.

5. Unity and its importance.

6. Team work and its role for each.

My thoughts and inner feels to this event…

Going thru and forming the connections.. In life it’s all connected.  Be it our minds, our thoughts and our body bending to form each circle.  The circle of life, the people within, the people outside the circle… Who and what’s in the inner and outer circles.. Its like the events that is happening within my life.. What happens or happened and be connected to each and every link.. Linking to our daily life, thoughts and speech. We are inter dependent on each and whether it blooms or dies.

Be grateful, be thankful for this life and for the things and people in my life…not taking for granted.

平常心

I went to Raintree Forest (D cousin).  He had many reminders of signboards saying 平常心!

Of late, these words popped up many a time. 怎么是平常心?How do you obtain and maintain this?

Like a death of a love one?.  How do you deal with this? Controlling of one’s emotion and feels?  Letting go of this loss and moving on in life, holding onto only fond memories?

D asked me on a recent article about a mother shaving her daughter’s head bald for bullying  cancer patient.  To me, there is no right or wrong.  It could be more than meets the eye.  It could be the circumstances that to the mother’s actions.  I have no feels..

Just like I watched this video on the Tibetan’s creation of the Sand Mandala.   Why do they destroy it?  无长…

六道

I learnt in Sunday class on 六道 from Teacher Leroy.
The human washing machine:

Upper 3, Lower 3 and away, away to be the Buddhas, Pusas and Arahant.

What do each one aspire to be as a cultivator?  My inner thoughts, I do aspire to be in the horizon of the Buddhas, Pusas or Arhant.

Question is am I too late?  I hope not.  I reviewed what I have done my past life as from MR’s reading and my current rependence, starting my cultivation I hope in the worst case scenario I am back to be a human form and to do more rependence to reach the Buddha State.

Reading the chapters or DZW daily, the greatness and her sacrifice taught me, in human we have to always practice compassion and benevolence to anyone.

Karma will come for those who do evils and create bad deeds.  It will be in after life.

The Buddhas, the gods, dieties and lianshi don’t owe you anything (Teacher Dom’s constant reminder ).  You have to reflect and help yourself before others can help you.

Look, reflect what you have done and can be done better.

Principles – Whose is it?

I learnt and took away another important lesson in class. My classmate Jes shared about being upset over a colleague ‘s unfair treatment which in principle isn’t right nor fair.  She felt upset as she should stood up for that colleague, however nothing can be done as decisions were made.

Speaking of which Vel asked the class…in principles… Whose principles?  Many of us have our own set of principles which may not be applicable to another individual.  What is right or wrong isn’t the same for two persons even if they are good friends, a couple or colleagues etc

I reviewed back and I realized how  true.  I had unconsciously set my principles as a benchmark too for what I feel is rightful and any rightful being should do this way or have it….However, I realized the angle, the thoughts and for the direction which another may not feel the same.

There is no hard and fast rules on each individual. Weighing of such Principles of one is to be taken at that moment, the person and the situation.

地藏王菩萨宝诞法会 Ksitigarbha  Birthday Ritual & Offering of Merit Lotus event

Extracted from Zacken’s FB post:
The truth..What is Seven month?

Lunar seventh month, which the majority of us refer it to the ghost month will be starting on the 3rd of August for 2016. During this season, Facebook will be flooded with articles on the Dos and Don’ts for the month. Is the lunar seventh month really the ghost month? Does the hell gate really open up and let the ghost roam free?

Since most of the people does not have the gift of the spiritual third eye, they will choose to believe what we can’t see just to be “safe”.

Ghost as what we call them, are everywhere, 24/7. Some are unable to recarnate, some have resentments which are yet to settle, some doesn’t know that they are dead, there are countless reason on why they are in the same astral plane as us human beings. Putting that aside, going through the Buddhism sutra, never is there any sutra stating that there will be “a month of holiday” for the ghost (being let out of hell). For ghosts who were being banished to hell, is because they have done evil deeds and are going through hell as a punishment before moving on to the 6 realms. What makes you think after being banished to hell, they will have such good entitlement to holiday on Earth for a month?

In the Ullambana Sutra (孟兰盆经), it clearly indicate the origins of the lunar seventh month and the meaning behind it.

A Buddhist monk named Maudgalyāyana (目犍连), originally a Brahmin youth who later ordained, and later becoming one of the 10 Buddha’s chief disciples. Mahāmaudgalyāyana was also known for having clairvoyant powers. After he attained Arhatship, he began to think deeply of his parents, and wondered what happened to them. He used his clairvoyance to see where they were reborn and found his father in the heavenly realms i.e. the realm of the gods. However, his mother had been reborn in a lower realm, known as Avici Hell, or the Realm of Hungry Ghosts. His mother took on the form of a Hungry Ghost (Preta) – so called because it could not eat due to its highly thin and fragile throat in which no food could pass through, yet it was always hungry because it had a fat belly. His mother had been greedy with the money he left her. He had instructed her to kindly host any Buddhist monks that ever came her way, but instead she withheld her kindness and her money. It was for this reason she was reborn in the realm of hungry ghosts.

Maudgalyāyana eased his mother’s suffering by receiving the instructions of feeding pretas from the Buddha. The Buddha instructed Maudgalyāyana to place pieces of food on a clean plate, reciting a mantra seven times to bless the food, snap his fingers to call out to the deceased and finally tip the food onto clean ground. By doing so, the preta’s hunger would be relieved. Through these merits, his mother was able to be reborn as a dog under the care of a noble family. Maudgalyāyana then sought the Buddha’s advice to help his mother gain a human birth.

The Buddha established a day after the traditional summer retreat (the 15th day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar, usually mid-to-late August) on which Maudgalyāyana was to offer food and robes to five hundred bhikkhus. Through the merits created, Maudgalyāyana’s mother finally gained a human birth.

Ullambana Festival Festival , the Buddhist version of Hungry Ghost Festival, is the day to emphasize on filial piety. By reciting mantras and be on a vegetarian diet dedicated to the deceased will help to lessen their sufferings and help them in their rebirth to higher realms. People nowadays made use of this month for business opportunities which most of the time does not benefit the deceased. And by instilling fear in people by all the “ghostly” talk during this month will only pollute the mind set of more people. Proper explanation on Ullambana Sutra (孟兰盆经) should be spread across, to correct the wrong beliefs.

Every year this time, LZT organized 3 events during the lunar seventh month for the benefit of self and deceased.

地藏王菩萨宝诞法会 Ksitigarbha Birthday Ritual & Offering of Merit Lotus event

This is the first anniversary since I joined LZT in 2015 on the Lotus  event.  This year event 2 was indeed eventful.   I learnt the seriousness of how things are conducted and its purposes.  Every year will be different for each of the Ancestors we helped in attaining merits and the lightening of their sufferings and karma.

Last year I did for Dad, Lit and Milton.  There was a small hiccup where Lit appeared instead of Milton nevertheless everything went smooth.  I had kneeled quite a while for Milton to be in the helping hands of DZW.

This year, I experienced difference scenario in the lotus merits.  Milton and Lit were rather fast in asking DZW but for Dad, kneeling there asking for help took a long time.  I became very stressed…there were negotiations. I had to help the ancestors with daily reading of DZW Jin 1 chapter a day and the monthly donation. I was a nervous wreck by the end of it.   Last lotus was for Aunt Carmen who came and eventually received the lotus to follow DZW.

I am thankful to all the seniors in LZT , their kindness inhelping me. No words can describe my feels.

Thank-you.

The meaning of this Word?  I have seen this many a time on the robes of high monks and the chest of Buddhas.  Never had it occurred to me to know its essence.   I had thought it was knowing the dharma wheel.  法轮。

Why is it on the chest? What is the meaning of this Word? Why is it at heart position?

Teacher Leroy and Shan’s explanation: This is for us.. To change the heart’s essence. Every change, our intentions!意念! This is the sign of Dharma Wheel – the moving of this wheel is basically the meaning of changing of the heart. 转心!转自己才能够让你知道自己的道路与心。念意!

I decided to Google and read on:

“卍”字是在佛像及佛教文物中常见的符号,读作“万”或“室利靺蹉洛刹囊”,是佛陀三十二种大人相之一,据《长阿含经》说,它是第十六种大人相,位在佛的胸前。又《大萨遮尼乾子所说经》卷六说,是佛陀的第八十种好相,位於胸前。《十地经论》十二卷说,在悉达多未成佛时,胸臆间即有功德庄严金刚“卍”字相。
